A Perth Uber driver has been temporarily blinded in one eye after a terrifying attack from a passenger, the Perth Now has reported.
“Dashcam footage has captured the horrifying moment Uber driver Moiz Akash was assaulted and threatened by his passenger about 11:10 pm on Sunday in Perth’s hillside suburbs,” reported Perth Now.
West Australian Police said the uber picked up a passenger from a residence on Clayton Street in Koongamia.
“The passenger entered the car in “an aggressive manner before assaulting the driver, resulting in facial injuries”, police said.
“He said I’m going to kill you tonight, you going to die tonight. And with that 10 seconds at that time when he choked my neck, and I can’t breathe, I say okay… I think it’s done,” Moiz told 7 NEWS.
“At that time, his finger gets into my mouth, and I bite him, that’s why he removes his arm.”
“I get out of the car, he runs behind me and saying, ‘I’m gonna kill you tonight’.
He returned to his car a few minutes and left the scene.
Midland police are investigating the matter and have asked potential witnesses to come forward.
