Terms of use

These terms apply to your use of www.nriaffairs.com and to the content we publish on it. They are written in plain words. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Who we are

NRI Affairs is an independent news publication based in Australia. “We” and “us” in these terms means NRI Affairs.

Using our content

Unless an article says otherwise, the articles, photographs, graphics and video on this site are protected by copyright and belong to NRI Affairs or to the people who licensed them to us. You may read our work, share links to it, and quote short passages from it with attribution and a link back. You may not republish whole articles, or scrape or bulk-copy the site, without written permission. To ask for permission, use the contact page.

Republished articles and Creative Commons

Many articles on this site are republished from The Conversation and from other partners. Those articles carry their own licence line at the foot of the piece, and that line governs their reuse, not these terms. Articles from The Conversation end with a line saying they are republished from The Conversation under a Creative Commons licence, with a link to the original article. The licence is the one named on the original article, and its conditions govern any further reuse. Agency and partner copy credited to another publisher belongs to that publisher and is not ours to pass on.

Comments

Comments are open on articles so readers can respond to what we publish. By posting, you confirm the comment is your own work and you give us permission to publish it on the site. You keep the copyright in what you write.

Comments are held for moderation before publication. We remove comments that are abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, off-topic or spam, that post other people’s private details, or that pretend to be someone else. We may remove a comment without notice and may block repeat offenders. Comments may be closed on older articles. Comments are the views of the people who post them, not ours.

Accuracy

We work to be accurate, and we correct errors on the page, as our Editorial standards and corrections page explains. Even so, an article reflects what was known when it was published. Visa, migration, tax and study rules in particular change often and differ by country. Our reporting on them is general information, not legal, financial or migration advice. Check the official source, or a registered professional, before you act on it.

Links

We link to other sites because they are useful or because they are our source. A link is not an endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of other sites.

Advertising

Advertising on the site is labelled Sponsored and is supplied by the advertiser, who is responsible for the claims in it. How we handle advertising is explained on the advertise page.

Liability

We provide the site free of charge and as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from reliance on anything published on it. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Changes

We may change these terms. The current version is the one on this page. Last updated: 4 October 2026.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
