Brazilian President Lula da Silva called Singh “a global leader with a profound sense of humanity,” while former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa remembered him as a “mentor and ally in fostering South Asian unity.”
As a mark of respect, the Indian cricket team, currently touring Australia, wore black armbands during their match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Captain Rohit Sharma stated, “Dr. Singh’s contributions to our nation will always inspire us.”
