Registration for priority-access to tickets for next year’s T20 World Cup in Australia begins

International Cricket Council has announced venues for T20 World Cup to be held next year in October. 

The 2022 T20 world cup final will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, while Sydney and Adelaide host the semi-finals.

ICC has confirmed that the tournament, which was supposed to be held in Australia and NZ in 2020 but was pushed back two years due to coronavirus, will occur between October 16 and November 13.

Seven venues will host 45 matches across Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The final will be played under lights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“Following the success of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2020 (in Australia) and a two-year postponement, our sights are now firmly set on planning for the 2022 event,” said International Cricket Council head of events Chris Tetley.
