One of the top few players in South Australia, Aswin has achieved this ranking only in four years as he moved to Australia in 2016 as a student. However, this is just another milestone in his journey, which has seen landmarks such as playing for India in the Davis Cup team, India Men’s ranking No six and Indian national champion ().

Watch: Here is Aswin’s story in his own words:

Aswin says it is always good to excel in another country.

“I always feel that Apne Desh Ka Naam Roshan Ho Raha hai. Whatever problems you have back home but you are still Indian at heart. You come here, you do well and they say a guy from India is doing well, it is not only good for you, it is good for the community around you. People out there will be very happy. You are not making yourself very happy, you are making others happy too.”
