An Australian businessman of Indian origin, Govind Kant, has died from COVID-19 in India.

Global Company Trina Solar has said it’s Australia assistant director, Govind Kant has passed away due to COVID-19, in Delhi.
In a statement, the company said, “We have lost a dear friend and valued colleague. Trina Solar Australia assistant director, Govind Kant, has passed away after contracting the coronavirus in India.”
47-year-old Govind Kant was based in Sydney. According to Trina Solar, he had returned to India for personal reasons. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
“Unfortunately, Govind contracted the virus in India and has passed away. Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that the team at Trina Solar feels for the passing of our exceptional colleague and friend,” said the company in a Linkedin post.
“This is a significant loss to Trina Solar, and mere words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow we all feel upon Govind’s passing, and we will provide necessary assistance to his family in this mourning period, and we pray his soul may rest in peace.”
India has lost more than 275,000 people to COVID-19, with 4,329 deaths in the last 24 hours. Although the daily cases have dropped to 263 thousand, over 32,000 patients have died in the country in a week since May 11.
