South Australia announces new occupation list for 2021-22

Australian state of South Australia has released its occupation list for the financial year 2021-22 skilled nomination visa program.

South Australia says its visa program will open from Tuesday, 20 July 2021.

In a statement, Migration SA said, “Skilled Migrants meeting the South Australian state nomination requirements will be able to directly apply for a nomination from 8 am, Tuesday 20 July 2021,”

Opportunities for Offshore applicants

Migration SA has said that offshore applicants can send their ‘Registration of Interest’, provided they have critical skills.

“Specific trade and health occupations are now available to offshore applicants. You can submit a Registration of Interest application if you meet the published requirements for your occupation,” said the department.

South Australia has revealed a comprehensive occupation list under these 25 broader categories:

Farmers and Farm Managers

Specialist Managers

Hospitality, Retail & Service Managers

Arts & Media Professionals

Business, Human Resource & Marketing Professionals

Design, Engineering, Science & Transport Professionals

Education Professionals

Health Professionals

Health Professionals

ICT Professionals

Legal, Social & Welfare Professionals

Engineering, ICT & Science Technicians Automotive & Engineering Trades Workers

Construction Trades Workers

Electrotechnology & Telecommunications Trades Workers

Food Trades Workers

Skilled Animal & Horticultural Workers

Other Technicians & Trades Workers

Health & Welfare Support Workers

Protective Services Workers

Sports & Personal Service Workers

Office Managers & Program Administrators

Other Clerical and Administrative Workers

Sales Representatives & Agents

Sales Support Workers

“Skilled Occupation List will allow you the opportunity to review specific occupation requirements,” said the department.

The South Australian skilled migration program will focus on:   

Talent and Innovators Program

They provide opportunities and pathways for those who can contribute to South Australia’s priority growth industry sectors.

Currently working in South Australia (including long-term residents in SA)

Live and work in outer regional South Australia or a long-term resident living and working in SA. You may be eligible for concessions to the skilled work experience requirements.

International Graduate of South Australia

SA graduates must be currently working in their nominated or closely related occupation for the last three months in South Australia (post-course completion) unless specified differently for your occupation.
