Indian cricket stars Smriti Mandhana and Arshdeep Singh headline the International Cricket Council (ICC) Awards 2024 shortlist, showcasing their stellar performances in international cricket this year. Mandhana has been nominated for ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, while Arshdeep Singh is in contention for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year. Earlier, Shreyanka Patil was shortlisted for the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year category, underlining India’s strong presence across award categories.

Indian Cricketers Dominate ICC Award Categories

Smriti Mandhana continues to be a force in international cricket, ending 2024 as the leading run-scorer in women’s ODIs. Her exceptional year featured four centuries, including match-winning innings that solidified her place as one of the sport’s finest. Mandhana, a two-time Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy winner, faces tough competition from Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, and Australia’s Annabel Sutherland.

On the men’s side, Arshdeep Singh’s lethal bowling made him a standout performer in T20Is. As the joint-leading wicket-taker at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Singh’s consistent performances earned him a spot alongside Pakistan’s Babar Azam, Australia’s Travis Head, and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza for the coveted T20I Cricketer of the Year title.

Shreyanka Patil, nominated in the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year category, has been a revelation for India. Her performances have signaled the rise of a new generation of talent in Indian cricket.
