Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a serious assault in Sydney’s CBD on 23 May.

About 2.10am (Monday 23 May 2022), police were called to the corner of George and Liverpool Streets, Sydney, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command attended and were told a 25-year-old man had become involved in a physical altercation with six other men not known to him.

Then men fled the scene in a blue Holden Commodore, driving north along Kent Street.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 25-year-old man at the scene.

He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain. He remains in a critical condition.

Detectives have established Strike Force Stockdale to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of six males who they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.
