Indian tourists would also be given attractive rates on hotels, vacation packages, and other tourism-related goods and experiences, according to a statement from Tourism Australia. The declaration is a part of Australia’s effort to increase tourism and attract foreign visitors from India.

Tourism Australia has teamed with five major airlines as part of the promotion to provide all-inclusive, round-trip economy class airfares to Australia starting at $967 on Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Air India, Sri Lankan Airlines, and Thai Airways (Rs. 53,600).

The deal is valid through February 28, 2023, and it can be used for travel until December 31, 2023.

In addition, TFE Hotels, The Ovolo Group, and Hyatt Centric have joined the TA’s initiative to provide special discounts to Indians. According to TA, almost 130,000 bookings for partner airlines were made during earlier iterations of such campaigns.

Australia continues to be a very popular travel destination for Indian tourists, and Nishant Kashikar, Country Manager, India and Gulf, Tourism Australia, said, “we are always exploring avenues to keep offering great value on Australian holiday experiences to our Indian travellers.”

He added, “We are observing a new trend among consumers of longer-term planning of holiday travel, and we are confident that this campaign will offer a compelling reason for travellers to plan early and book their next holiday to Australia well in advance.”

India, which is currently Australia’s third-largest source market, is anticipated to rebound to 2019 levels first. There is no denying that both domestic and foreign arrivals and departures have increased recently.

Airlines are working to make up for lost revenue due to pandemic losses and high fuel prices, but many price-conscious Indians have been waiting to book their flights.

Nearly 207,000 Indians visited Australia between January and September 2022, according to the most recent statistics from Tourism Australia. The trade deal between Australia and India, which took effect on December 29, 2017, will increase travel between the two countries.

Back in April 2022, Tourism Australia also launched a similar campaign Virtual Travel Fair, Discover a Great Deal More, that provides Indian and other South and South East Asian travellers with the opportunity to explore attractive deals on holidays to Australia.

In addition to airfares, this limited-time feature offered travellers a competitive price range on holiday packages and other tourism products and experiences. The campaign aimed to facilitate aviation recovery and help Australian tourism return to pre-COVID levels.
