India has extended the ban on international flights to and from India till February 28.

On Wednesday, the Director-General of Civil Aviation released its latest circular confirming that the international flights would remain suspended till February 28.

“The competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of February 28, 2022,” the circular stated.

However, flights under air bubble arrangement will continue to operate.

India had suspended international flights in March 2020 after a strict lockdown was imposed in the country during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

India has bilateral air bubble arrangement with countries including Sri Lanka, Canada, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, the Maldive’s, Nigeria, Qatar, the UAE, the United Kingdom, the USA, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Queth, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Russia, Rwanda, seashells, Tanzania, Ukraine and Uzbekistan and Australia.
