India honours popular Tanzanian social media star Kili Paul

India has honoured renowned social media influencer Tanzanian artist Kili Paul, famous for dancing to Bollywood songs.

The Indian High Commission in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, received local artist Kili Paul, who is famous for lip-syncing Bollywood songs and Indian dance moves.

Indian Diplomat, High Commissioner of India in Tanzania, Binaya Pradhan, presented a memento to Kili Paul on Monday.

“Today had a special visitor at the high commission; famous Tanzanian artist Kili Paul has won millions of hearts in India for his videos lip-syncing to popular Indian film songs,” Mr Pradhan tweeted.

Kili Paul has over 2 million followers on the social media platform Instagram. His followers include some of the big names of Indian cinema, such as Ayushmann Khurrana, Gul Panag and Richa Chadha.

Paul’s rise to fame is recent when he started lip-syncing Bollywood songs and his dancing skills in the videos.

Maintaining his tradition, Paul wears traditional clothes in all his videos.
