A new look Australian women’s team had an easy win over the visiting Indian team in the opening one-day international of the CommBank series at Mackay.

Teenage pace bowling duo of Darcie Brown and Hannah Darlington set up an easy nine-wicket win for Australia against India at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay today.

It was a comprehensive performance by Australia as the hosts cruised to their 25th-consecutive ODI victory #AUSvINDhttps://t.co/Vbfc4tEbAa

Australia’s openers Rachael Haynes (93 not out) and Alyssa Healy (77) then combined with Meg Lanning (53no) to make light work of the run chase, surpassing India’s 8-225 in the 41st over in the one-sided contest.

Brown (4-33) and Darlington (2-39) took six wickets between them to strangle the Indian innings, the highlight of which was a 77-run third-wicket stand between skipper Mithali Raj and debutante Yastika Bhatia. Left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux claimed two wickets.

This was Australia’s 25th consecutive ODI win, a world-record.

Scores:

India Women 225 for 8 (Mithali Raj 63, Richa Ghosh 32 n.o., Darcie Brown 4-33, Hannah Darlington 2-29) Australia Women 227 for 1 (Racahel Haynes 93 n.o., Alyssa Healy 77, Poonam Yadav 1-58)
