An NRI woman working in Australia has become the third person to accuse a leading Kochi-based bridal makeup of sexual assault.

The Keralite woman has accused renowned makeup artist Anez Anzare of sexual misconduct. She has filed the complaint with the police via email.

Kochi police have registered a case against Anzare after three women accused him of sexual assault.

According to the complaint, the woman accused the owner of the ‘Anez Anzare Unisex Salon Bridal Makeup Studio’ of speaking to her with sexual overtone and abusing her while doing her bridal makeup in 2015.

Last week, a woman had made similar allegations against Anzare in an Instagram post. She alleged in her post that in 2019, Anzare had disrobed her by force and spoke indecently at the studio.

The woman said she resisted the moves, cancelled the booking for bridal makeup and left the spot.

After allegations of sexual harassment against tattoo artist Sujeesh surfaced, social media is buzzing with allegations against #Kerala makeup artist Anez Anzare. Three women filed a complaint against him with the Kochi Commissioner of Police.

Following the post, many women accused Anzare of similar behaviour.

Some of the complainants alleged that the sexual harassment by the Kochi-based makeup artist had led to severe mental trauma on their wedding day.

“Two incidents happened in 2015, one in 2021. All three women decided to speak out against the harassment they faced after the recent incident in a tattoo studio. The survivors shared their plight on social media and later approached the police. As a result, three cases were registered,” Kochi commissioner of police C H Nagaraju.

The women decided to speak out against the makeup artist after a similar case recently where police indicted a tattoo artist of raping six women in his studio. The tattoo artist was caught after one of the women put up her ordeal on Instagram, and five more women came forward to file complaints.

Police suspect Anzare fled the country on the day the first post appeared. Nagaraju said a lookout circular would be issued if necessary.
