Second Indian-origin teenager goes missing in a week from Sydney’s west

Update: Good news! A 15-year-old girl reported missing from Sydney’s west has been located.

The teenager was last seen about 7am yesterday (Monday 25 October 2021) at Girraween.Following inquires, the girl was located about 11pm.

15-year-old Parmeet Kaur has not returned to her home on Gilba Road, Girraween, since she left around 7 am Monday morning.

“After family were unable to contact her during the day, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were alerted and commenced investigations into her whereabouts. Family and police have serious concerns about Parmeet’s welfare due to her young age,” said the police in a statement.

“Parmeet is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, about 150cm tall, of thin build, with waist-length black hair and brown eyes.”

According to the police, Parmeet was last seen wearing a green school uniform but is believed to have changed her clothes. She has a black backpack with the word EVERLAST written on it.

Parmeet is known to frequent Girraween, Parramatta and Cumberland areas, says the police.

She is the second teenager of Indian origin who has gone missing in a week.

NSW police searching for 16-year-old Neil Kumar missing from Sydney’s west

16-year-old Neil Kumar has been missing since 21 October. He was last seen at home at Charles Street, Smithfield, about 6 am on Thursday (21 October 2021).

He was reported missing from Fairfield City Police Area Command officers later that day when he failed to return home as planned. Police and family have serious concerns for Neil as his disappearance is out of character.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to come forward and contact Cumberland Police Station on 9897 4199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
