USA Cricket has announced its 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Malaysia next month. Notably, the entire team comprises players of Indian-American descent, highlighting the significant impact of the Indian-American community on the sport in the United States.

Leadership Profiles:

  • Captain: Anika Kolan
    Anika Kolan continues her leadership role following a successful tour to the West Indies. She previously captained the USA in the inaugural 2023 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, bringing valuable experience and strategic acumen to the team.
  • Vice-Captain: Aditiba Chudasama
    Serving as vice-captain, Aditiba Chudasama adds depth to the leadership team. She also represented the USA in the 2023 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, contributing significantly with her all-round performances.

The ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup is set to be held in Malaysia, marking the USA’s second consecutive appearance in this prestigious global event. The tournament will feature teams from around the world, providing a platform for young female cricketers to showcase their talents on an international stage.

The squad is set to tour South Africa from January 3 for a camp and warmup fixtures against Cricket South Africa’s U19 Women’s team before heading to Malaysia. The tournament begins on January 18.

The selection of an all-Indian-American squad underscores the growing influence and participation of the Indian-American community in USA cricket, reflecting the sport’s expanding diversity and reach within the country.

As the team prepares to compete in Malaysia, they aim to build on their debut performance in the 2023 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, striving for excellence and hoping to make a significant impact in the tournament.
