In a dynamic landscape where societal progress intertwines with policy initiatives, the Social Justice Ministry’s ambitious 100-day plan for a Drug-free and Accessible India 2.0 emerges as a beacon of change. With a dual focus on enhancing accessibility and combatting drug abuse for a healthier society, the ministry sets forth a comprehensive strategy poised to resonate across the nation.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar unveiled the comprehensive 100-day plan for his ministry during a recent announcement. Emphasizing key initiatives such as Accessible India 2.0 and the expansion of the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, Dr. Kumar articulated a vision aimed at fostering inclusivity and combating substance abuse across the nation.

Additionally, Dr. Kumar instructed the organization of 100 camps tailored for individuals with disabilities in the aspirational districts during the initial phase of the 100-day plan. This directive highlights the ministry’s dedication to providing vital services and assistance to marginalized communities, guaranteeing their involvement in the nation’s development path towards a drug-free and inclusive society.

“We should strive to accomplish our hundred-day action plans expeditiously. Our objective ought to be that every task we undertake contributes to the advancement of both our society and nation. Our efforts must garner recognition not just domestically but also on the international stage,” he emphasized.

“Furthermore, we encourage other nations to adopt our effective strategies. While we recognize the inevitable challenges that come with our endeavors, we also see them as opportunities for growth and achievement,” Kumar added.

On November 23, 2023, in New Delhi, a pivotal moment unfolded as the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment allied with the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This landmark agreement marks a significant stride in the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a nationwide campaign aimed at eradicating substance abuse.

The collaboration between the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment and ISKCON is set to amplify the reach and impact of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. By leveraging ISKCON’s extensive network and resources, the campaign intends to spread its message among diverse demographics, including youth, women, students, and beyond.

Through a multifaceted approach encompassing awareness programs, educational initiatives, and community engagement, the partnership seeks to address the root causes of substance abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle. By targeting vulnerable segments of society and fostering a culture of resilience and support, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan aims to create a healthier and more vibrant nation.

The MoU signed on November 23, 2023, marks a pivotal moment in the journey towards a Nasha Mukt Bharat. It signifies a collaborative effort between the government and civil society to tackle one of the most pressing challenges facing the nation today. With determination and concerted action, this partnership holds the promise of a brighter, drug-free future for India.

For youth, the campaign offers a pathway to a future free from the shackles of addiction, enabling them to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society. Women, often the backbone of families and communities, stand to benefit from enhanced awareness and support systems, enabling them to safeguard their well-being and that of their loved ones. Additionally, students, the leaders of tomorrow, can be equipped with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices and resist the temptations of substance abuse.

By focusing on these demographic segments, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan not only addresses the immediate challenge of substance abuse but also lays the groundwork for a more resilient and empowered society. Through collective action and collaboration, we can create a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, unburdened by the scourge of addiction.
