Addressing a query raised by Dr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy, Member of Parliament, MOS Muraleedharan shed light on the remarkable growth trajectory witnessed in the Indian workforce within the UAE. Notably, within the span of just one year, there has been a substantial surge of over 134,000 Indian workers, a testament to the UAE’s escalating appeal as a coveted destination for Indian job seekers seeking opportunities overseas.

Furthermore, Minister Muraleedharan divulged that in the preceding year alone, the UAE accommodated 3.419 million Indian expatriates, indicating a consistent upward trend in overseas employment. This upward surge not only solidifies the UAE’s stature as a global haven for Indian expatriates but also mirrors a prevailing pattern observed across other Gulf nations.
Gulf Dynamics: UAE Spearheads, Others Follow Suit
Within the Gulf region, the UAE stands at the forefront, accompanied by four other nations – Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman – in descending order of Indian workforce influx. Collectively, these five nations provide gainful employment to a staggering 7.932 million Indians, as corroborated by MOS’ statements, further attesting to the Gulf’s pivotal role in Indian expatriate employment.
