An Indian-origin Uber driver succumbed to his injuries in a hospital on Tuesday after being shot in the head by a stray bullet.

21-year-old Kuldip Singh died in a hospital in New York after fighting for his life for three days. Singh was caught in the crossfire incident of a shootout on Saturday night in Harlem.

He started driving Uber only a couple of months earlier and was struck as he drove past a car.

Kuldip Singh arrived in the US in 2018.

‘Kuldip growing up was a great kid,’ his father Prittal Singh told The Daily News. ‘I never had any problems with him.’

Uber spokeswoman Carly DeBeikes said, “Our hearts are with the driver, his passengers and their loved ones after this horrific and senseless act of violence.”
