Haryanvi athletes Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya and Anshu Malik have been selected for ‘Haryana in UK’ association’s prestigious ‘Haryana Gaurav’ award.

A committed comprising world class sportspersons has selected three Haryanvi Para-Athletes for this year’s ‘Haryana Gaurav’ award. The panel consisting of olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, Amit Panghal and Manu Bhaker. The committee selected Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya and Anshu Malik for the awards.

This year, the committee decided to start the Haryana Gaurav Award for para sports.

Deepa Malik, Amit Saroha are being recognised for their achievements, and life-long commitment in bringing para-athletics in India where it is now. The committee also selected Sumit Antil in para athletics, who broke world record at the Paralympics and won gold.

Haryana In UK Association President Kuldeep Ahlawat made the announcements. Special vote of thanks was given to last year Haryana Gaurav awardees and distinguished athletes Neeraj Chopra, Amit Panghal and Manu Bhaker for taking the time for the meetings and selecting this year awardees.

“All the preparations are in full swing. Our core group members are doing a great job. They are Sajjan Singh, Anuraj Nandal, Rinku Dhankhar, Praveen Dahiya, Ashwani Kalkal, Manveer Dalal, Vivek Chaudhry, Manish Dahiya, Amit Ahlawat, Naresh Malik, Naveen Sehrawat, Sarla Chaudhry, Parveen Rani, Rajender Dahiya, Vinod Chillar, Kuldeep Kadian.”, a spokesperson for Haryana in UK said.

The people from ‘Haryana In UK’, an association of residents of Haryana in the UK, are celebrating Haryana Day on 6 November.

The group celebrates Haryana Day in UK every year so that all the residents of Haryana, living in UK can be in touch with their culture and traditions. At the Independence Day function, the group also sets up a stall to showcase the achievements of Haryana. Free food is served to the visitors present at the function. The functions are attended by the Indian High Commission officials.
