Cricket Australia announced the next generation of stars for the 2022 World Cup, naming two Indian-origin players for the 15-player squad.

Harkirat Bajwa plays for the Melbourne Cricket Club, while Radhakrishnan spent time with the Delhi Capitals IPL side as a net bowler this year.

According to cricket.com.au, Radhakrishnan is ambidextrous and can switch which arm he bowls with mid-over depending on the match situation.

“He played for the Australian Under 16 side against Pakistan in 2019 and was offered rookie contracts with both NSW and Tasmania for the 2021-22 season, eventually agreeing to join the Tigers,” reports the website.

“The squad was finalised following trial matches at a training camp in Adelaide, with not all of the initial 37-player training squad able to attend given border restrictions.”

Congratulations to Harkirat Bajwa, Joshua Garner, Campbell Kellaway (pictured) and Liam Blackford (reserve) on being selected in the Australian Squad for the Male ICC U19 World Cup.

The tournament will be held in the West Indies early next year.#vicsdoitbetter pic.twitter.com/C3yXPzZPIX

The team will assemble in Melbourne during the Boxing Day Test before flying to the West indies for the Under-19 World Cup in January. New South Welshman Anthony Clark will coach the side.
