UAE suspends for visa-on-arrival for Indians

According to Etihad Airways, UAE has temporarily suspended visas on arrival facility for Indian nationals with a US, UK or EU Member state visa.

“The UAE authorities have decided to temporarily suspend the visa-on-arrival facility for passengers who are arriving from or been in India in the past 14 days. We’re working on updating our website,” Etihad’s official guest relations Twitter account notified passengers.

“If you are an Indian citizen, you are now eligible to apply for a visa when you arrive in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi. To qualify, you must have a US visitor visa or green card or holding a UK or EU residence valid for at least six months. And your passport must have at least six months validity,” the national carrier had said in a statement.

Etihad has not provided any reason for the suspension.

On the other hand, Oman has decided to allow fully vaccinated travellers from India to visit the country. New rules will be implemented from September.

Kuwait has reallowed commercial flights with many countries, including India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

However, on Wednesday, a cabinet statement said that the country would resume flights with the South Asian countries while adhering to the COVID-19 measures set by a ministerial committee.
