The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has further relaxed its visa-on-arrival rules for Indian nationals by including visas from six additional countries in its eligibility criteria. This move is expected to ease travel for Indian passport holders and boost tourism and business travel between India and the UAE.

Expanded Eligibility for Visa-on-Arrival

Previously, Indian nationals were eligible for a visa-on-arrival in the UAE only if they held a valid visa or residence permit from specific countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Schengen nations. Under the new rules, visas from six more countries have been added to the list, making it more convenient for Indian travelers.

List of Newly Added Countries

As per the revised guidelines, Indian nationals who hold valid visas or residence permits from the following additional countries can now avail of the visa-on-arrival facility in the UAE:

  1. Thailand
  2. Panama
  3. Kazakhstan
  4. Mexico
  5. Peru
  6. Colombia

Existing Eligibility Criteria

Indian travelers can continue to obtain a visa-on-arrival if they hold a valid visa or residency from:

Visa-on-Arrival Process

Indian nationals who meet the eligibility criteria can receive a 14-day visa-on-arrival upon reaching UAE airports. The visa can also be extended for an additional 14 days under the UAE’s immigration regulations.

Impact of the Policy Change

This expansion is expected to enhance travel flexibility for Indian nationals, particularly business travelers, tourists, and professionals residing in these newly included countries. It aligns with the UAE’s goal of attracting more international visitors while strengthening economic and cultural ties with India.

With this latest update, the UAE continues to position itself as a global travel hub, simplifying entry requirements for Indian nationals. Travelers are advised to check the latest visa regulations before planning their trips to ensure a hassle-free journey.
