Haryanvis in Texas (HARIT), a non-profit group based in Dallas, Texas, organised a number of unique events to mark Thanksgiving Day.

Haryanvis in Texas spent the Thanksgiving-Day-morning with Fire and Police departments in different districts of Texas, arranging breakfast for them as a mark of appreciation for all that they do.

The locations covered include Frisco Fire Station #5 and #8 and the Roanoke Police and Fire Departments.

HARIT members visited the departments, some with their little children.

They showered their gratitude to the service personnel who will be on duty throughout the Thanksgiving period while the rest of society gets to spend it with their families.

The Women and Kids team visited Frisco Fire department station # 5, including Ruchi Tomar, Pinki Sharma, Ritu Goyal, Chanchal Bhardwaj, Seema Dabas, Kumkum Jain and their children.

Anil Dutt Rathee says the children were taken on a tour of the departments and were very excited to see all the fire trucks and equipment used by the personnel.

“Our organisation is started by like-minded individuals connected with a common thread of rich Haryanvi culture, but it is not confined to the people of Haryana. We welcome everyone from neighbouring states to join us,” said Mr Rathee.
